Message from the Artist~
This is a vintage piece! It is from a collection of works that I created in and around 2005. I had collected a variety of “go to” still life objects that I would arrange in various ways for sketching and painting. One of my favorites was a bamboo plant that belonged to my grandpop. He had it by his kitchen window and I was always fascinated with the way each vibrant green stem reached upward while the gentil leaves reached out in a seemingly intentionally protective way. It wasn’t until I was older that I realized how much these simplistic and strong plants remind me of my grandpop. He was a good man, that loved his family. He could fix anything; with whatever tools he had at the time. He enjoyed a good cup of coffee with good people just as much as an afternoon at the casino.  He was always there for the people he loved, and he lived the best kind of life, simplistic and happy.     I hope that this piece brings you all of the simple pleasures that life has to offer and more than, that I hope you find joy in them!
