The element of color has always played an intricate part in my art. Even before beginning a painting, I select my color palette based on the feeling or mood that I want each piece of art to evoke.
It occurred to me a few years ago, that maybe the job of each intentionally selected color palette was not finished at the exact moment that I signed my painting. Those colors had more left to communicate… So, I began working with the paint that lingered on my palette as a way to extend the story that I initially set out to tell. I began mixing, swirling and pouring color palettes freely. This has now become a ritual part of my painting process.
Each abstract pour was created as a conclusion to a more realistic painting of mine. Some were poured on canvas, some on wood, or on other objects but each one tells a story with the element of color. If you look closely you will see it!
Enjoy!
